Tater Tot Casserole

This is a dish that’s so tasty I almost wish I hadn’t discovered it ... it's great passing the lips but most definitely will sit on the hips. I hear that it's been around forever, but it's new to me so I wanted to share. 😋


Brown a pound of ground beef with chopped up onion & garlic

Add a can of cream of mushroom soup to the cooked meat

Thin to a gravy consistency with broth

Remove from heat and add a handful of grated cheddar cheese

Pour the gravy mixture into a cake pan (9 x 13)

Top with tater tots and desired amount of cheddar cheese


Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown on the top


Creative ideas ... you could use any kind of leftover meat, additional veggies like corn & peas or leftover gravy instead of a can of soup. Really, put together whatever sounds good. As long as it's topped with tater tots and cheese, it's tater tot casserole in my book.
